On Sunday 13 March, the Indonesia Netherlands Society was invited to a reception in Rijswijk to welcome H.E. I Gusti Agung Wesaka Puja, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Ambassador Puja explained the current strong cooperation between Indonesia and the Netherlands as the two countries has also signed A Comprehensive Partnership. There are several potential areas of cooperation between the two countries including maritime, infrastructure, counter terrorism and combating trans-organized crime, defense technology, trade, tourism and people to people contact.
In his personal contact with members of the board of INS, Ambassador Puja repeated his strong intention of deepening the collaboration between the embassy and INS.
Ambassador Puja was born in Bali on 11 January 1962, is married to Mrs. Rusdijana Puja and has two children.
Prior to his ambassadorship to the Netherlands, H.E. I Gusti A. Wesaka Puja was the Director General for ASEAN Cooperation at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (April 2012- February 2016). From March 2010 to 2012, Ambassador Puja was the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Austria, Republic of Slovenia and Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other International Organisations in Vienna.
In 2006 – 2009 Ambassador Puja served as the Ambassador/Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Indonesia to the UN, WTO and Other International Organizations in Geneva.
